When I first started going to live events almost ten years ago, I had an embarrassing habit.
Every time I checked into a hotel, I would ask the receptionist for a room on the first floor…
… Because I was so “introverted” I didn’t want to run the risk of being forced into a conversation with a stranger in an elevator.
(Yeah… I was that bad).
And this bad habit handicapped my success and growth for years. Because instead of making the connections and getting the support I needed to get to the next level … I was literally hiding behind ground floor hotel doors.
But after a rough kick in the backside from my buddy Bedros (who informed me with some very colorful language that my introversion made people think I was a rude jerk)….
I realized I had to make a change. It didn’t happen overnight, but little by little I started to get a grip on my introverted tendencies. And today…
Meeting, greeting, and yes… even having conversations with strangers in an elevator are all second nature.
I’ve been fortunate enough to build a huge network filled with some of the best and brightest minds on the planet. And it was all thanks to a few simple tools and tactics I want to share with you today. If you’ve ever struggled to make connections and grow your network because of your introverted tendencies…
