(do you have these?)
Back before I was a broke, struggling, socially anxious personal trainer … I was an even MORE broke, struggling, socially anxious farm boy.
Growing up with an alcoholic father, no money, wearing patches on my school clothes … It was easy to become conditioned with the idea there wasn’t much to go around.
I didn’t want to be that kid with the patches for the rest of my life … But I had a tough time getting ahead.
I studied hard and did well in college … As a trainer I knew my stuff inside out and consistently delivered my clients great results … Yet I still failed to really progress financially.
I felt like I was stuck in the mud, spinning my wheels … It was incredibly frustrating and I knew something had to change.
Eventually I realized the solution was to stop thinking like an average person … I had to develop the mindset for success (trust me it’s simpler than it sounds).
Because… If you think like an average person you’ll have an average life.
The average person is overweight, living paycheck to paycheck, develops health problems and is expected to die before the age of 75.
I’ll tell you now what I told myself…
=> YOU are NOT average.
You were put here for so much more and you have so much to give.
And if you’ve been working your butt off, doing absolutely everything you’re supposed to do … Yet still not reaching the level of success you want to reach … You’re almost definitely missing the 3 mindsets crucial for success.
So to help you stay strong and level up in today’s crazy world, I’ll share them with you now:
1. The Abundance Mindset
There are two types of people in this world.
The first group looks at a pie and thinks … “Well, everyone else who gets a slice is taking pie away from me.”
The second group looks at the pie and finds a way to add a big scoop of delicious ice cream so that everyone gets more.
That second group is known as “entrepreneurs”, btw. 🙂
That’s why you must believe … We live in a world with more than enough to go around.
You must realize you’re not taking from someone else when you have success … And you’re not taking away someone else’s money when you go make money – there’s more where that came from.
But I know what it’s like to once have been in the first group of people.
I too was once cursed with a scarcity mindset … It’s like a ball and chain weighing down your thoughts and actions.
But once I got past that blockage I recognized money is infinite … And you can achieve and attract opportunity and success into your life.
That’s what allowed me to go on and write for Men’s Health magazine … Have over 21 million YouTube views … Earn the nickname “the Millionaire Maker” … And, most importantly, help thousands of entrepreneurs grow their businesses and improve their lives.
All while adding more “ice cream” to people’s lives. 🙂
You can do the same if you build an abundance mindset … Then add mindset number two…
2. The Growth Mindset
This mindset states:
“We can all change, we can all get better.”
True, you might not be the next Michael Jordan…
And you may never be Elon Musk.
But you can get better.
You can improve your 3-point shot … You can build an insanely profitable business.
And all you need to get there is the belief you can get better every single day… and to take action on it.
Kaizen is the Japanese philosophy of continuous incremental improvement.
And it epitomizes the growth mindset.
All you have to do today is commit to getting 1% better every day … So that in a year from now you’ll have made massive gains in your productivity, health, and finances.
3. Mindset of 100% Responsibility
One of my favorite sayings goes like this:
“If it is to be, it’s up to me.”
That means that you must take 100% responsibility for your life.
Take ownership of where you are now.
Recognize that YOU are 100% responsible for your own success… or lack of it.
If someone steals money from me, it’s MY fault for not keeping it more secure.
If I hire the wrong person who can’t perform their job, it’s MY fault.
And this works the other way too…
If you improve, grow, and succeed… guess what?
That’s also your fault!
So you’re the only one who can make it happen.
Bad or good, stop passing the blame…
It’s NOT because of someone else.
It’s NOT due to circumstance.
Those things may have an impact, but you choose whether they stop you or not.
When you stop making excuses it sets you free … You can move forward in the driver’s seat and do the work to attract opportunity into your life.
That’s when you start getting better every day… and seeing the world of abundance you’re really living in.
Each of these 3 mindsets contributes to the others … And right in the middle of all 3 lies the heart of success.
When you put it all together you’ll surprise yourself how fast you progress.
Listen, it doesn’t matter where you’re starting from … I was a poor, broke, struggling personal trainer.
But I focused on and strengthened my growth mindset … Which allowed me to build the abundance mindset … And along the way I learned to truly accept 100% responsibility for my life.
THAT is what set me free … gave me more clarity and less stress in my life … and took me to building multiple 7-Figure businesses.
I want the same success for you.
And with your new mindset, I know you can have it.
To your success,
